Columbia River Chinook
by Bill Monroe
|
The Columbia River will remain open to chinook salmon retention through the end of the year up to the U.S. 395 bridge in Pasco, Washington.
Oregon and Washington fish managers met Thursday afternoon and extended fishing for chinook from its previous closure date Sunday.
The daily bag limit remains two adult salmon (three from Buoy 10 to Puget Island), but only one chinook. All coho must be fin-clipped.
The states also approved additional commercial non-tribal net seasons from Warrior Rock on Sauvie Island to Beacon Rock below Bonneville and for tribal nets from Bonneville Dam to McNary Dam.
