Ice Harbor Lock and Dam, 10 miles up the Snake River from its confluence with the Columbia River, is under consideration for breaching. (ACOE photo) PASCO, WA -- The spring chinook season is opening on the Snake River, but only on limited days each week.

The forecast for chinook salmon this spring is relatively good, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

But to provide the prolonged season requested by anglers, the department is limiting fishing to certain days of the week.

The season opens April 20 below Ice Harbor Dam on Fridays and Saturdays.

The season opens April 22 below Little Goose Dam on Sundays and Monday, with the season the same in the Clarkston area.

The daily limit is six hatchery chinook, with no more than one an adult. Adults are 24 inches or longer. The minimum size to retain is 12 inches.
