U.S. Extends Call to Replace Generator
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids to replace generator windings of the Unit 3 turbine-generator at the 402-MW Dworshak Dam hydroelectric project in Idaho. Bids now are due July 24.
The Corps' Walla Walla District previously called for bids by July. 8. Last year the district requested information on firms able to perform the windings replacement as well as cavitation repair of Dworshak Unit 3.
The Corps also seeks bids July 7 to upgrade the heating-ventilation-air conditioning system at the project on the North Fork Clearwater River. It called for bids in May to supply circuit breakers and capacitors.
The Walla Walla District now seeks bids to disassemble Unit 3, provide and install a new stator core and winding, and reassemble and commission the unit.
The work is expected to cost between $10 million and $25 million.
A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF15R0019 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
