Northwest Winter Wheat Production

Pacific Northwest wheat farmers planted more winter wheat than last year,
but prices are (subsequently) lower, according to USDA's small grains summary.
Pacific Northwest winter wheat production is up about 23% over last year, according to USDA estimates, as planting for the 2025 crop gets underway.
Winter wheat production in Idaho was 62.3 million bushels, an 11% increase from 56.1 million in 2023, according to the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Services' recent small grains summary. Spring wheat production was 38.7 million bushels, up 20% from 32.3 million bushels. Winter wheat yield in Idaho remained the same as the previous year, at 89 bushels per acre. Spring wheat yield was also 89 bushels per acre, up from 82 bushels per acre in 2023.
