Simpson Receives Awardby StaffIdaho Farm Bureau News, April, 2002 |
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG) recently honored Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson with the "Wheat Champion Award" for his work on the 2002 Farm Bill and efforts as a Member of the House Agriculture Committee.
The award was presented to Congressman Simpson by a group of Idaho wheat growers. Simpson was one of 10 members of Congress to receive the award this year. Idaho Senator Mike Crapo was also a recipient.
In addition, Congressman Simpson's Legislative Director, John Revier, was also recognized for his efforts to assist Idaho wheat growers. NAWG presented Revier with the "Friend of Wheat Award" along with a plaque expressing appreciation from the Idaho Grain Producers.
