Monitoring Data Show Success
by Val AlexanderThe Columbian, April 17, 2009 |
Once again I find that some reporting in The Columbian was misleading. The April 12 story, "Running wild," made it sound like fish habitat restoration groups are spending public money and are not checking to see if their projects work. Fish First and Friends of the East Fork have always monitored their projects by professionals and have shared the data for years. Information of their monitoring was not included in the story. The projects completed by Fish First and Friends of the East Fork have had better than 90 percent success rates and they'll gladly share the data.
