Columbia River Fish Return Updates

Here are the latest Columbia River salmon and steelhead returns from state Fish and Wildlife:
Fall chinook at Columbia River mouth: URB, 323,400 (preseason was 399,600); PUB, 46,400 (62,600); and 29,000 (37,700).Note: It is estimated that 18.6-percent of Group B hatchery fish are not adipose-clipped.Steelhead at Bonneville Dam: Group A hatchery, 209,700 (220,000); Group A wild, 108,600 (92,700); Group A total, 318,300 (312,700); Group B hatchery, 42,800 (41,200); Group B wild, 9,700 (12,900); and Group B total, 52,500 (54,1000).
State Fish and Wildlife update coho next week, but Bonneville Dam counts (90,300 adult coho) are already greater than preseason expectations (81,500).
