Salmon Season on Salmon River is Extendedby StaffThe Idaho Statesman, May 26, 2004 |
Salmon anglers will get about 25 miles of new fishing waters on the Salmon River this summer, pending federal approval.
Idaho Fish and Game commissioners met Tuesday via conference call and approved extending the salmon fishing season on the Salmon River up to Vinegar Creek starting June 21 and ending July 5.
Commissioners also approved a June 21 opener for the South Fork of the Salmon River. That season is scheduled to run until Aug. 1 but could close sooner if a quota is met or if the run is smaller than expected.
