2015 Columbia Chinook
Runs at Record Levels

by Rich Landers
Spokesman-Review, September 6, 2015

A one-day record 67,024 fall chinook went up the Bonneville Dam fish ladder and past the viewing window on Sept. 7, 2014. FISHING -- The 212,618 adult fall Chinook counted at Bonneville Dam as of Friday is the 2nd highest on record (since at least 1938).

The record is 260,775 fish counted from August 1-September 3, 2013.

This year's total adult Chinook count at Bonneville Dam trails the record (again since at least 1938) by less than 300 fish. From January 1-September 3, a total of 594,833 adult spring, summer, and fall Chinook have been counted at the dam.

The record is 595,123 fish counted during the same period in 2001.

Bottom line: There's plenty of fish out there to catch.
