Pikeminnow Bounty Program Begins,
with an Added Feature

by Bill Monroe
The Oregonian, May 4, 2023

These eight fish, which could have been worth $40 to $64 during the recent pikeminnow season are now worth $80 through Oct. 11. 2020 (Bill Monroe photo) The region's unique pikeminnow bounty program has entered the cyber world.

Bounty-fishing began Monday with a techno-twist.

Participants can now use most smartphones instead of a registration station to pre-register before heading to their pikeminnow hotspots.

Once downloaded, only a trip to a collection station is required.

Simply click on the website's prominent link and download a convenient app on the phone, then go fish.

It replaces the need to stop at a checkstation and register, although all 18 stations will continue to operate along the Columbia and Snake rivers.

Details about registration, maps, fishing tips, angling regulations for Oregon, Washington and Idaho and more are on the program website. Or call 800-858-9015.
