After Senate confirms the appointment,
Louie Pitt will serve on the Northwest Power and Conservation Council
Gov. Kate Brown has tapped Louie Pitt to serve on the Northwest Power and Conservation Council.
Pitt currently serves as the director of Government Affairs and Planning for the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.
The NPCC covers Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Washington with a goal to balance fish and wildlife programs with the region's energy needs.
Pitt will complete the term of Chuck Sams, former top administrator of the Confederated Tribes of Umatilla Indian Reservation. Sams resigned when President Joe Biden nominated him as National Parks Director.
Sams awaits confirmation from the U.S. Senate. Pitt also awaits confirmation from the Oregon Senate.
If confirmed, Pitt would start the $120,000-per-year position on Nov. 19 and serve through Jan. 15, 2024.
