by Staff
HydroWorld.com, April 8, 2014

Lower Mounumental Dam in the southeast corner of Washington on the Snake River. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids to supply new draft tube and scroll case personnel hoist systems at 603-MW Ice Harbor Dam and 810-MW Lower Monumental Dam on the Snake River in Washington. Bids now are due April 15.

The Corps' Walla Walla District previously called for bids by April 3. The agency solicited information last year on small businesses able to perform the work at Ice Harbor. The Corps took bids in January for spillway modification at Ice Harbor. It took information in March on firms able to upgrade bridge crane VFD drive controls at Lower Monumental.

In a solicitation set aside for small business, the Corps now seeks bids to fabricate and supply the new draft tube and scroll case personnel hoist systems at Ice Harbor with an option to supply another scroll case system at Lower Monumental. The draft tube hoist frame is to be about 6 feet long and 2 feet wide. The scroll case hoist frame is up to 14 feet tall by 4.5 feet wide by 5 feet long. Fabrication is to be performed off site.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W912EF14R0009 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.

Bids now are due April 15. For information, contact Camilla Allen, Contract Specialist, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, 201 N. Third Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362-1876; (1) 509-527-7213; E-mail: camilla.allen@usace.army.mil.
