Habitat Document Availableby StaffCapital Press, July 18, 2003 |
BOISE -- An environmental document for implementing habitat improvement measures to improve fish habitat in four Idaho river basins is now available from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
The document describes the types of stream flow, fish passage barrier and fish screen projects that may be implemented under the program in the Lemhi, Upper Salmon, Little Salmon and Middle Fork Clearwater river basins.
The Programmatic Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact also describes the affected environment and environmental consequences associated with the projects, consultation and coordination, and environmental commitments.
All projects would be completed with willing landowners on private land in accordance with existing Idaho State law. Landowners will own the completed projects, and be responsible for their continued operation and maintenance. BuRec spokesman said.
The document is available on the website at www.usbr.gov/pn/programs/esa/idaho/Idahoea.html, or by contacting Joe Spinazola at (208) 383-2259, or by e-mail at jspinazola@ob,usbr.gov.
