U.S. Seek Firms to Install Governors
by Staff
|
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks information on firms able to install new digital governors at the 810-MW Little Goose hydroelectric project on the Snake River in Washington. Responses are due Nov. 12.
The Corps' Portland District issued a similar query in October on both large and small businesses able to install new digital governors at 11 Corps hydroelectric projects in the Portland, Seattle and Walla Walla districts. The government previously purchased governor retrofit kits to convert mechanical governors to digital governors. The agency took information in April on firms able to provide digital governor commissioning and training services at Corps hydro projects in the same region.
In a sources sought notice, the Corps' Walla Walla District now seeks information on small businesses with the ability to install new government-furnished digital governor equipment at Little Goose. The Corps plans to use responses from the notice to determine the type of solicitation to be issued.
The Corps said digital governor equipment already has been procured and it seeks installation at all six main hydropower units of 135 MW each at Little Goose. The work is valued at $1 million to $5 million.
The sources sought notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering the number W912EF15RSS06 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
