U.S. Extends Bidding to Modify Fish Channel
by Staff
|
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids to modify a juvenile fish collection channel at 810-MW Lower Granite Dam on the Snake River in Washington. Bids now are due May 6.
The Corps' Walla Walla District previously called for bids by April 29. It solicited information last year on firms able to perform the work. The district also took information last year on firms able to upgrade the juvenile fish passage facility at Lower Granite.
The Corps now seeks bids to permanently close juvenile fish collection channel reservoir side fish slots and Wagner horn openings. Closure is to be accomplished by using existing fish slot screens and converting them with concrete into fish slot plugs and by constructing reinforced concrete plugs for the Wagner horns, which are 3-foot-diameter corrugated metal pipe-lined openings. The work is expected to be performed between August 2014 and January 2015 at a cost of $1 million to $5 million.
A solicitation notice set aside for small businesses may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W912EF14B0005 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
Bids now are due May 6. For information, contact Jani Long, Contract Specialist, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, 201 N. Third Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362-1876; (1) 509-527-7209; E-mail: jani.c.long@usace.army.mil.
