Hanford Sport Fishery
The Hanford Reach fall salmon sport fishery is starting to pick up. Our first run update today has shown some improvement from our preseason run estimate, specifically our natural origin estimate. We plan to update again next week to ensure the numbers are still tracking. From September 9 through September 15, WDFW staff interviewed anglers from 383 boats (1,095 anglers) with 299 adult Chinook. Based on sampling, an estimated 803 adult Chinook were harvested from 2,764 angler trips (1,044 boats) in the fifth week of the fishery. In addition, 7 steelhead were caught and released.
