Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River -- 42 bank anglers kept 2 steelhead. 6 boat anglers had no catch.

During five days of operations at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator, last week Tacoma Power recovered:

• 283 coho adults and 3 jacks

• 179 winter-run steelhead

• Five cutthroat trout

• 49 coho adults, two jacks, 20 winter-run steelhead and five cutthroat trout into the Tilton River at Gust Backstrom Park in Morton.

• 25 coho adults, one jack and two winter-run steelhead into Lake Scanewa above Cowlitz Falls Dam

Bonneville Pool -- No effort was observed.

The Dalles and John Day pools -- Anglers are catching some summer run steelhead though all fish sampled were of the wild variety and had to be released.
