Spring chinook salmon fishing has ended early.

Idaho Fish and Game has closed springer fishing on the Clearwater River and its Middle, North and South Forks. Fishing has also ended in Idaho on the Snake River below Hells Canyon Dam.

The season is ending early as the harvest quotas have been met with a run that's coming in lower than preseason predictions.
