Fall Chinook Sports Catch on Lower Columbia

Joe Hymer, a state Fish and Wildlife biologist reports: "It is official: New record fall chinook sports catch on Lower Columbia."
Through September, an estimated 27,490 adult fall chinook have been caught in the Lower Columbia mainstem sport fishery from the Rocky Point/Tongue Point line to Bonneville Dam.
The old record was 26,195 fish caught in 2003, and this fall's is now the largest since record taking began in 1969. The record will also increase after the October catch is added.
