A Sign for Salmon
Along Edmonds Way

by Staff
Edmonds Beacon, March 17, 2022

Concerned citizens hold a sign asking to 'Stop the Extinction Breach Snake Dams' (Shea Sullivan/Shea Sullivan Photography) Groups around the Pacific Northwest raised banners on March 14 advocating for the breaching of the four lower Snake River dams in Washington state to help stop salmon extinction.

A banner was raised in the grassy area along Edmonds Way as it approaches the Highway 99 overpass.

"We are dropping our banner in solidarity with the International Day of Action for Rivers," said spokesperson Allison Penney.

The multicity action builds on the recent Human Orca mural in Seattle, where salmon and orca supporters created a giant human mosaic next to Pike Place Market in the shape of an orca.
