Dworshak Fullby Eric BarkerLewiston Tribune, June 14, 2010 |
Dworshak Reservoir should hit full pool today or early Tuesday.
As of noon today the reservoir was less than a foot from elevation 1600 feet or full pool. It is filling at a rate of about 9 inches to a foot per day. That should leave the reservoir brim full for about three weeks.
After the Fourth of July weekend, salmon managers in the region will likely begin to call for water from the reservoir to cool the lower Snake River to help juvenile fall chinook survive their migration to down the Snake and Columbia Rivers to the Pacific Ocean.
If you like the reservoir full, the time is now.
