Dams Don't Hurt Orcasby Mike NelsonYakima Herald, March 27, 2018 |
To the editor -- Regarding "Save the orcas" (March 15). Orcas in Puget Sound are stressed because of lack of salmon to eat, so the friends of the orcas say we must remove dams on the Snake River.
This sounds like more liberal "fake news." The Snake River flows into the Columbia and then the ocean. The salmon smolts follow this route and return.
Salmon in Puget Sound use the rivers that flow into Puget Sound. Maybe the reduced populations are due to foreign countries fishing our coastal waters and not respecting our 12-mile limit; but that doesn't help their political agenda. These clowns have no honor.
