Two Dam Crossings Temporarily Close by Staff Union Bulletin, September 4, 2009

WALLA WALLA -- Road crossings at Little Goose and Lower Monumental dams on the Lower Snake River will be temporarily closed starting Tuesday.

In addition, crossing hours at Lower Granite Dam are being changed to 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The Lower Granite Dam road is closed on Sundays.

In a release, Joe Saxon, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers public affairs chief, said the closures are necessary due to short-term staffing shortages. No date has been set for when the road crossings will re-open, but an announcement will be made when that happens.

Road crossings at all three dams will be closed Monday due to Labor Day holiday.
