Lower Monumental and Little Goose Dams Closed to Crossings Monday by Staff Tri-City Herald, February 14, 2015

Lower Monumental Dam near Kahlotus and Little Goose Dam near Starbuck will be closed to vehicle crossings on Washington's Birthday.

However, Lower Granite Dam near Pomeroy has reopened to vehicle traffic and will be open on the holiday.

The dam closed to crossings Feb. 6-10 after a bridge pier foundation for the road approach to the top of the dam was damaged during nearby construction work for the Juvenile Fish Facility's dewatering structure.

A soil buttress has been added as a temporary measure to allow the dam to be reopened to vehicles, according to the Army Corps.
