Bush Administration Issues Final Plan
to Deal With Endangered Salmon

by Staff
Fox 12 News, May 6, 2008

Washington, D.C. -- Endangered salmon in Southern Idaho are getting some help from the federal government.

The Bush Administration has issued its final court-ordered plans for making Columbia Basin hydro-electric dams and Southern Idaho irrigations projects safe for salmon.

The plans, known as "biological opinions," include modifications to the dams themselves, improvements to river habitat, and even hauling young salmon around some of the dams.

The plans will now go before a U.S. District judge for final approval.
