Columbia River Ranks as a Top Bass Fisheries

by Eric Barker
Lewiston Tribune, April 30, 2012

Larry Sherman of Lewiston caught this 7-pound, 3-ounce smallmouth bass while fishing on Dworshak Reservoir. The reservoir was placed on a list of the top 100 bass fishing areas. Bass Master magazine ranked Dworshak Reservoir, Lake Coeur d'Alene and the Columbia River on a list of the top 100 places to fish for bass.

Lake Coeur d'Alene ranked ninth, the Columbia River, shared by Oregon and Washington, sat at 20 and Dworshak Reservoir, that produced the Idaho State Record smallmouth bass, just barely made the list at number 85.

Falcon Lake of Texas, that sits on the U.S. Mexico border, was the top rated bass fishery.
