Both steelhead and sockeye hit milestones at Lower Granite Dam on the Snake River this week.
On Tuesday steelhead surpassed the 10,000 mark at the dam. Since June first 10,152 steelhead have been counted there. The 10-year average is 4,177.
Earlier this week the sockeye count hit 2,000. That is the most ever counted at the dam that was completed in 1975. Through Tuesday, the sockeye count was 2050. Of those, 193 have returned to the Stanley Basin.
