Power Council Picks New Leaders for 2013

The Northwest Power and Conservation Council has voted Oregon member Bill Bradbury to chair the four-state body for the upcoming year. Bradbury served as vice chair in 2012. He was appointed to the Council in late 2010, and served as Oregon's secretary of state from 1999 to 2009. From 1981 to 1995, Bradbury served in the state legislature. He has also directed a non-profit group, For the Sake of the Salmon, which worked with regional stakeholders.
Montana member Bruce Measure was elected vice-chair. He has served on the Council since 2005, has been both chair and vice-chair, and currently chairs the Fish Passage Center Oversight Board. Measure has also represented his state in settlement negotiations over the hydro and white sturgeon biops.
In other Council news, Montana member Rhonda Whiting, who served as chair in 2012, resigned effective Dec. 31.
