Salmon Seasons in Upper Rivers to Open

Chinook fishing seasons on the South Fork Salmon and Upper Salmon rivers open Saturday, and portions of the Snake and Clearwater rivers closed this week.
Seasons can close on short notice and bag limits change, so for the latest information on salmon fishing and complete regulations, go to fishandgame.idaho.gov.
OPEN SALMON AREAS
South Fork Salmon River
The season opens Saturday.
On the lower South Fork of the Salmon, the season runs through July 5 or until further notice.
On the upper South Fork Salmon River, the season runs until further notice.

The 25-mile section of the Salmon River from Shorts Creek upstream to the boat ramp at Vinegar Creek opens Saturday and remains open until further notice.
Little Salmon River
Open from the mouth upstream to the bridge near Smokey Boulder Road. River is open until further notice.
SALMON CLOSURES
The Clearwater River
Section is closed from the mouth to the Orofino Bridge and the North Fork Clearwater. The Clearwater from Orofino Bridge upstream to the mouth of the South Fork Clearwater is closed to all chinook salmon fishing.
Snake River
All fishing for chinook salmon on the Snake River from the Dug Bar boat ramp upstream to Hells Canyon Dam will close to Idaho anglers.
