Big Country News, April 18, 2022

(Blaine Harden) Little Goose and other federal dams have been ordered to spill water to keep migrating salmon in the Snake River, avoiding potentially deadly turbines. STARBUCK, WA -- Officials at Little Goose Lock Dam are extending the dam crossing closure from Monday April 18 to Friday April 22, in order to perform electrical work on top of the dam.

Normal crossing hours are Monday through Thursday, once an hour, on the half-hour, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Public dam crossings are also available at Lower Granite Lock and Dam and Lower Monumental Lock and Dam.
